Our “Toughest Firefighter Alive” pick up the next game

On Saturday 09/04/2011 3 teams of TFA Göttingen lined up at the Berlin Fire Fighter Stairrun. Of course, our world champions Joachim Posanz and Alexander Meyer, teamed up for the competition as partners.

In this contest you didn´t need any special equipment or extreme power. Endurance, speed and teamwork with a good partner are most important for this challenge.

From start on the Alexanderplatz to the finish line on the observation deck of the hotel a distance of approximately 300 meters running track and 39 floors (770 steps) had to be mastered. Our firefighters had to run in full gear with an attached face mask !

A strong will was required to get to the end and to the observation deck of the Park Inn Hotel in approximately 110 meters!

Visible relief and joy on the faces of Alexander Posanz Joachim Meyer, after the observation deck was reached. The way down was a little faster … They were roped down 110 meters at the outside of the hotel.

Of the competing teams 197 made it in the ranking. Joachim Posanz and Alexander Meyer reached this year the 1 place with an incredible time of 06:09,6 minutes, followed by a team from Poland, who arrived only 2 seconds later.

The next contest, the TFA European Championship takes place on 10./11. June 2011 in Mönchengladbach.

“Toughest Firefighter Alive” wearing Schuberth !

Every two years the “World Firefighter Games TFA” are held and the title “Toughest Firefighter Alive” is awarded.
The championship is quite comparable to the Ironman, but here the toughest firefighters from all Nations battle in specific firefighter-challenges.

Joachim Posanz (on the picture right) and Alexander Meyer, two firefighters from Göttingen, Germany made 1st and 3rd place in the last championship in Daegu, South-Korea 2010. We are proud to supply both of them with a Schuberth F220 for their next challenge in 2012.

The “Indoor Firefighter Challenge” is a smaller national champioship that took place on March, 13th in Dortmund. Our Team had to succeed in 5 challenges with full Firefighter outfit.

Started with the “Tower challenge”, where a 19 kg fire hose has to be carried 12,5m high. Form above they had to pull up another fire hose.

After pulling a 79,4kg Dummy backwards over the finish line they made again 1st and 2nd place in the championship – congratulations !

The next challenge will be the “Berlin Firefighter Stairrun”, next Saturday and we´ll accompany their hopefully succesful finish and post more fotos here – good luck !

Premiere: New Schuberth F300 at Interschutz

Today started the international fire fighters fair Interschutz 2010 in Leipzig, Germany. The leading trade fair for the fire fighter industry take place every five years and is attracting an international audience. Till 5^th of June our colleague will present our fire fighter helmets at our Schuberth stand.

The highlight of this year’s company exhibition is the world premiere of the prototype of the new fire fighter helmet F300. The helmet got a modern shape and a modular fitting system for the visor, the protective mask, the hearing protector or for the powerful helmet lamp, which can be easy handled.

We also present our new optimized helmet interior for the F220 and the traditional F130/F120. Learn more about the advantages of our new helmet by watching our new video.

By the way: Schuberth is celebrating the 50 year anniversary of fire fighter helmet construction. Here you can see a classic Schuberth fire fighter helmet from the year 1960.
