It was the first time that a formula one race was held in Korea. With a good mood, all the people working in F1 were happy after an interesting and exciting race on sunday.  Especially after a rainy sunday, with heavy wet weather and some chrashes on the track, all the mechanics had a lot to do. Same as us – the Schuberth Racing Service had to run a lot during the grid phase and the restart-phase. Ferrari on the one hand – Mercedes on the other hand. Having visors ready, the spare helmets with you and a cleaning cloth for dry helmets in the pocket.

Korea was a new and dirty track – and after the race was finished, we could see that, when the drivers helmets were back in our hands in the garage. On the pictures below, you may find the dirt :) . On Nico Rosbergs helmet, you find some chrash debris from his accident with the red bull of Mark Webber. Its is very interesting for us to see, what is all on a helmet  after a race with a lot of fights. somethimes you find dirt, broken scoops, destroyed visor stripes, very dirty visors (even they could use tear-offs – unbeliveable but true), or tyre rubber all over the helmet.

At the end of the day, we were able to remove all the dirt and to let the helmets shine again – ready for the next grand prix.

During the upcoming weeks without Formula 1, nevertheless, we still want to share our love for racing with all of  you. Therefore we had a look into our foto-archives and found some special pictures where we can tell you a short story about. All of these little and exciting moments of the year, we want to show you in our Schuberth Racing review of the previous year. Today we start with the first part of it – the GP of Japan in Suzuka:

Heavy rain in Japan was the reason for some confusion on Saturday morning and therefore the Qualifying was started on Sunday.

If it rains as strong as in Japan, a Formula-one helmet must be cleaned and dried again, up to the smallest opening for perfect comfort and the perfect look.

In Japan this was very important on Michael Schumacher’s helmet. His helmet appeared in a slightly changed design in Japan. On each side, new sponsors logos were gleaming on the helmet of the 7-times world champion. A reason for us to show to you a few nice pictures from Japan:

Because the decision occurred relatively at short notice to Japan GP, the logos could not become fully painted for the Race in the Far East.

Hence, we had to stick the logos on all 3 helmets of Michael on the sides. The result is worth a notice. We hope you like it, too. But it was a lot of work, always to stick new logos on it and remove them after each session for cleaning the gear. But this is what makes the Schuberth Racing Service so special.  To give the products the special look. The logos became then fully painted for the last three races on all helmets.

In Abu Dhabi, we had the opportunity to take some pictures with our new SF1 helmet on Track.

Enjoy the SF1 special edition of Rosberg & Massa for the Pirelli Tyre Testday:

The last corner in Abu Dhabi and in the background the Yas Marina Hotel.

A beautiful Stewardess of Etihad was happy to act as our model sitting behind the helmets on the starting grid.

The next one is also a nice one – face-to-face – Massa against Rosberg :-)

And the last one: carbon fibre in detail :)

How do you like it?

We looking forward to the 2011 Season. Stay tuned…

At the moment our drivers Nico Rosberg (Mercedes GP) and Felipe Massa (Scuderia Ferrari) are running with the Schuberth F1 carbon helmet for the season 2011 in Abu Dhabi. On Saturday, both world champions Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso will use the newest helmet model from the Schuberth F1 manufacture in their racing cars. The new Schuberth formula one helmet is called “SF1 ″.

Furthermore, we are presenting two unusual design prototypes in Abu Dhabi. Nico goes with a glossy black helmet which was provided only with varnish. This shows the brilliant carbon optic. Felipe goes in a red SF1 – unusual for him. On both helmets the sponsors of both teams are also painted. However, next year the drivers will use probably their old helmet designs.

And for all Fans out there – here an impression of Felipe in his cockpit:
