New Series, New Helmet

Schuberth, has entered a multi-year partnership with Danica Patrick to be her official helmet supplier.  As Patrick transitions from Indy Car racing and enters the NASCAR season, she is sporting the Schuberth SF1, the helmet worn and proven by drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso, Nico Rosberg, Nick Heidfeld and Townsend Bell.

Patrick was first seen in the Schuberth SF1 racing in the Daytona 500 in February and is competing in both NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup series in 2012. “Safety and comfort are important to me, I want to wear the best. Schuberth is number one in safety so the choice was clear.” says Patrick.

Now Available in North America!

Schuberth has introduced the latest offering to its aerodynamic, aeroacoustic motorcycle helmet collection to North America – the S2 full face helmet. After ramping up business in North America with the award winning C3 flip-up helmet, Schuberth is expanding into new markets with the all-around sporty full face S2.

The S2 is not just another high-end full face helmet with integrated sun visor. It is the world’s first motorcycle helmet with an internal Dual Band Antenna which enhances the reception of the Bluetooth® Schuberth Rider Communication System. The extraordinarily light and quiet S2 also features a backspoiler which is molded into the shell to reduce drag, and a full-circumference downforce “trim spoiler” around the base of the helmet which also reduces drag and keeps air from flowing under the helmet creating noise. The internal sun visor, luxurious Thermo Cool liner and the advanced Air Extraction System make the S2 an unrivaled all-around helmet.

“Response to our award-winning C3 flip-up helmet has been way beyond expectation, but we have also had demand for a full face,” says Randy Northrup, Schuberth North America’s Vice President. “We listened to our customers and are proud to offer our premium full-face helmet that sets a new standard in the application of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics in helmet technology.”

In addition to the unique new features, the S2 naturally includes Schuberth’s patented Anti Roll Off System (AROS), the “turbulators” on the face shield to eliminate wind noise and a shell made from Schuberth’s proprietary S.T.R.O.N.G. woven glass fiber material. The sporty helmet is produced using 2 shell sizes offering optimal fit throughout the size range, and is much more compact and aerodynamic than its predecessor, the S1, which was discontinued in 2006.

An updated Schuberth Rider Communication System, the SRCS-2, is being developed specifically for use with the S2 and will be available this summer. The SRCS-2, an optional Bluetooth® communication system which is fully integrated in an easy-to-install replacement neck collar, enables users to wirelessly connect to passengers or other riders, navigation system, cellular phone, mp3 player and to receive FM radio. The internal antenna which comes standard in the S2 offers enhanced radio reception and intercom range up to ½ mile for the SRCS-2. The SRCS-2 is literally a ’snap’ to install and is fully functional after initial charging.

Seventh time in a row: Schuberth became Best Brand 2012

Today we´re very proud to announce that the Sr1 is Test-Champion of the PS-Magazine Sportshelmet-Test. (PS-Magazin 03/2012).

The Editors did invite several competitors at the end of last year and the results have been published now: The Schuberth SR1 finished at 1st place.

With 17 of 20 possible points in the category “shock absorption” it is also one of the safest helmet in the test.
And with 10 out of 10 possible points it offers the best ventilation of all helmets.

“The Schuberth is exemplary with full points in the category “ventilation”. It´s Air-intakes at the top and it´s chin-ventilation is excellent” (Source: PS-Magazine).
