Let´s ride! The international Ride Day on 3rd May means for the first time and for all the passionate women bikers in Germany: Driving on the Motorbike and showing, what we have. The Online-Magazine Fembike has set itself the goal to bring the Action day , which was establised in Canada 7 years ago, to Germany. Active women bikers, Clubs and Associations organize on this day special trips and activities for female riders. The aim is to show „how diverse the world of women bikers is“ describes the organisor Frauke Tietz. „That reinforces the solidarity amoung each other and should encourage at the same time other women to get enthusiastic about this wonderful hobby.“

We found this idea so fantastic, so that we absolutely wanted to support this action with great prices. All the participants, who have registered at fembike.de/female-ride-day-2014 will take automatically part in a draw. In total 3 C3 Pro Women will be drawed such as 10 Schuberth Softshell-jackets und 20 polo shirts.

After the trips the participants will be able to upload some pictures of their experiences and impressions. A lottery with high prices is a further peak of this action. Moreover, through the webside donations will be raised for the „Freiburger Verein AMICA e.V.“, which will be donated to women and girls in war areas.

The Female Ride Day has been founded in 2007 by The Canadian Vicky Gray.
She wanted to prove to the public: We, women ride motorcycle and there are many of us. More women should be encouraged to obtain their driving licence and to get a motorcycle – no matter which brand, which type and whether Sportler, Cruiser, Tourer or also Scooter. Each two motorized wheels are welcome. In the meantime the campaign is widespread throughout the world. In Israel and Iceland, in Russia and South Africa, everywhere around the globe the women bikers follow the Slogan: Just Ride!

We wish all the participants a great trip!

Mallorca Shooting – Making of

Our Year’s Spring Campaign was produced in December in Mallorca. Best sunny weather and in part spring like temperatures cared for a stunning scenery. Our photographer also created a short Making-of-Video, which we would like to share with you.

This year, the results of the annual survey among the readers of Europe’s largest trade magazine MOTORRAD to determine the best brands in the motorcycle sector once again provide a clear picture. 45,707 readers took part in the decision-making and voted Schuberth “Best Brand” in the helmet category with a clear 8.2% lead over the second-placed brand. We are particularly proud of the fact that we have obtained the coveted seal of quality every year since its introduction in 2006. At the official award ceremony on 17.03.2014 in Stuttgart, we were represented by Managing Director Jan-Christian Becker, Head of Sales & Marketing Nicole Prell as well as Marketing Manager Marc Lenze to accept the certificate in festive surroundings.

The happy winners from the different product segments receive their certificates.

We would like to thank all those who took part and in particular our faithful customers, without whom we would not have been able to achieve this accolade.

Do Women Really Need Special Helmets?

The Schuberth C3W, Fit for Women

Schuberth is the only helmet manufacturer offering motorcycle helmets specially fitted for a woman’s unique head and facial structure. What might seem like a clever marketing tactic to some is actually providing a premium level of comfort and enhanced safety for women riders and passengers.

Many women have difficulty finding helmets small enough to fit, sometimes resorting to cheap, ill-fittng children’s helmets which are not designed for the adult anatomy. The C3 Pro Women can be sized down to an XXS (50cm) and the C3W is available for purchase down to XXS. Helmet fit is critical for comfort and safety and a woman should wear a helmet that fits without ‘snugging it up’ with a scarf or beanie underneath.

Another common problem is that a helmet that fits the crown of the head is too loose in the face area and moves around as helmets are not supposed to do. This is because women typically have a higher, more prominent cheekbone and narrower jaw. Schuberth’s C3 Pro Women and C3W have a specially contoured fit in the cheekpads to accommodate this female facial structure.

Studies* show that men have greater neck muscle strength than women, so women are particularly sensitive to helmet weight. Many women express relief when trying Schuberth helmets because of their lightweight and compact construction. In fact, the C3 Pro Women and C3W helmets are the lightest flip-up helmets available.

So whether you are a woman rider, passenger, or a man with a female passenger, we hope this information will help with your helmet shopping. Of course the women’s helmets, just like women’s gear, don’t necessarily fit 100% of women better than standard helmets, but it’s certainly worth looking into when trying to find the best, safest fitting helmet for yourself or your loved one.
